Located in the undergrounds of Central Embassy, a luxury brands mall, the Eathai is a large restaurant with a big variety of typical plates from different regions in Thailand and different ingredients.
The whole idea resembles the Eataly in New York and Sao Paulo, I don´t know what came first but pretty similar ideas, and what makes this place so special is that it looks like you are eating their traditional street food in the old street carts, but clean and safe as we are used in any good restaurant.
The design of the place is ingenious. It's so modern and still carries the natural colors and materials of their nature, such as bamboos, flowers, leafs, straw,...
Also inside the restaurant you have a culinary book store and a little groceries gourmet shop.
The price is also great, each plate cost around 120-225 thb approx 4usd to 7usd.
My husband and I chose 3 different plates:
Stir-fried rice vermicelli and water mimosa with squid.
Pad Thai Pu - Mix of noodles with vegetables, egg, tofu and tamarind sauce.
Pork Satay - traditional pork belly skewer with curry
Thai food is usually very spicy although the plates we chose were mild. So if you are not into the hot stuff, these are safe choices!
I hope you like this tip, and go there next time you are in Bangkok!
