I will make this post in the honor of Otto Bastos, my great companion for almost 12 years, who passed away yesterday, and took with him a very big part of my heart. Who is also the reason for this trip to the pagoda and therefore responsible for this post. I am very introspective now and I just lost my words, so to get out of the blues I picked up my little girl and when out to Trãn Quõc Pagoda. Some days only a good pray can make us feel better... Rest in peace Ottoni!
Tran Quoc Pagoda is a buddhist temple in a little island in West Lake (Ho Tay)- Hanoi. It's the oldest pagoda in the city and holds the ashes of very important monks.
The temple is quite small, and you can see it all in 15-20 minutes, although it has a lovely historical architecture and, it's quiet and peaceful. So I took the time to pray and calm down and enjoy my time there with my baby.
We were so lucky when we got there a monk was finishing his prayer, so we watched his routine and listen carefully to the peaceful sounds he made. It helped me get back my inner peace I was looking for.
As it is summer time here, it's super hot during the day, so we went there by the end of the afternoon and ended up with a beautiful sun set on the way out.
