How do we cope when we want to look fabulous but have a huge walk ahead of us? I have to confess that it’s super hard for me to abandon my heels… but some times we have to get down to move faster.
Luckly there is this “not-so-new” trend of dressing up with sneakers. First time I saw it was on very tall girls, as they just felt too tall on heels, they would style up and add a sneaker to be on average height of all the other women.
Not only they become a reference in a style as it became a fashion trend even for the short ones… Like me. I love it, and with the right combination you could go pretty much any where. Although I wouldn't wear it for “dress code” places or for the work environment in case you need to look professional.
This is a great style advice for all moms and pregnant beauties. During pregnancy it’s highly recommended that you don’t use high heels, to avoid varicose veins, and as we lose our balance with the big belly, a fall is more likely to happen and also could be very dangerous for the baby. I did not stopped using it during my pregnancy, although I restricted to very special occasions only.
Although, even after I had my baby, many times I find my self having to walk and carry Naomi for longer periods then desired, so when I’m a mommy on duty, I like to be styled on my sneakers…
Now, let me show you some ideas to style it.
I found these 4 styles on the internet and I think they are pretty good examples. They are well styled and the combinations are good for different occasions.
The first: This is very casual, trendy stripped dress, white sneakers, sunglasses and big bag. This is great for a stroll on the beach, for a walk down the groceries store, to meet with girls for smoothie down town. Some thing cool and relaxed for casual occasions. This is something I would pack for my summer vacations.
The second: This is a more city look. I love the mix of classic black dress with the boho fringe bag with high tops old school sneakers. Definitely a trendy look, although I'm not so much in to trendy style, I do love this look. Trendy stuff always look good in super models and teenagers, although for the others... it requires a little knowledge on styling not to look tacky... so careful on being too trendy!
The third: Great winter look, very European, and a bit more grunge. I love this composition, I do have a hard time wearing all dark tones.... I'm more into colours, and happy clothes, but I would wear this look, but maybe a change on the skirt, cause a skirt long like that would make me look shorter and chubbier. ( I love the messy hair style! )
The forth: This is my favourite! A party dress brought to the day light and down to the city streets with white sneakers and leopard print bag, ... oh! I love it! I would wear it everywhere. Happy hour with my girls, pool party, cool brunch, .... you name it! She rocked!
Well, now check out the outfit I put together to rock on dress + sneakers look:
Of course, when I'm putting together a look, I always load it with my accessories, and this season I was too in love with my chains. I also have my little cross with green little rocks to match the stripped dress, a leather jacket and of course the sneakers... the detail that adds so much style to this look and makes it so much more comfortable....
That's it! I hope you guys like it!
